Attending Victorian Defence and Space Network Industry Preparation Day

With Indo Pacific 2025 set to be held from 4–6 November at Sydney’s International Convention Centre, the Victorian Defence and Space Network (VDSN) hosted an Industry Preparation Day on Monday 6 October at the Investment Centre Victoria in Melbourne’s CBD.

The event, emceed by Michael Flowers, member of the Defence Council Victoria, featured closing remarks from Colin Brooks MP, Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing and Creative Industries (pictured below). The agenda included briefings from AMDA Foundation Limited, the Victorian Government, Victoria Police, the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS), and the Defence Science Institute (DSI). Presenters provided key insights on the upcoming event — including who will be attending, how to maximise engagement opportunities, and strategies for successful participation at Indo Pacific 2025.

This year’s exhibition is forecast to be the largest in Indo Pacific’s 25-year history, with AMDA projecting more than 900 exhibitors from 21 countries and up to 27,000 visitors across the three days. All Australian states will again be represented with government pavilions.

As with past events, speakers highlighted the importance of thorough preparation. However, as Craig Butler from DSI reminded attendees, “leave time for serendipity” — allowing spontaneous opportunities to arise while exploring the exhibition halls.

The Victorian Government Pavilion will also host a special feature on the opening day — a live TV broadcast of the Melbourne Cup with refreshments available.
