Engaging with colleagues from Defence, industry and academia and learning of opportunities for collaboration in South Australia

Building on the success of last year’s ADM Defence and Industry Research Symposium in Adelaide, the ADM South Australia Defence Summit returned on 28 August. The event featured two concurrent streams, each addressing crucial aspects of the Defence sector.

The first stream focused on policies and strategies for South Australia’s Defence industry to expand its AUKUS footprint. The second, hosted by The University of South Australia, was dedicated to research, collaboration, and innovation.

Attendees had the flexibility to move between streams, ensuring they could tailor their experience to their interests. The summit also included panel discussions (as pictured below) and there were breaks which provided ample opportunities for networking.

On the following day, 29 August, the second annual DAIRNet Defence AI Symposium took place. This symposium served as a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas between the Defence and AI communities across industry and academia.

The agenda featured introductory and keynote presentations, followed by a panel discussion (as pictured below). After a morning tea break, attendees participated in facilitated roundtable discussions, where they explored case studies and delved into related AI topics.
