Attending Land Forces 2024 in Melbourne

Networking with industry colleagues in the Defence Land environment

After attending the Land Environmental Working Group in Canberra earlier this year, Steven Holloway was joined by Darren Carr and Andrew Petersen visiting the Exhibition at Land Forces 2024 held in Melbourne. There also the opportunity to attend the Chief of Army Symposium – The Human Face of Battle that was held in conjunction with the exhibition.

The event was the largest defence industry exposition ever held in Australia, presenting:

  • 995 Exhibiting organisations from 31 nations;
  • 77 Conferences, presentations and symposia; and
  • Official defence, government and industry delegations from 30 nations.

It was reported there was a 15 per cent higher attendance than the previous record-breaking event in 2022 held in Brisbane. Additionally, the larger Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre allowed the exhibition to grow almost a third larger than the previous Land Forces.

As Steven Holloway reflected that event has come a long way since its inception as the Small Arms Symposium held at the School of Infantry in Singleton almost three decades ago.
