Re-committing as a Veteran Employment Supporter

The Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC) is moving to a new model. Launched in April 2024, the refreshed VEC provides practical support and resources to encourage organisations to provide greater employment opportunities and assistance for veterans and their partners, while empowering employers to show their commitment to veteran employment.

Changes to the VEC require all existing Proud Supporters of Veterans’ Employment to re-apply to ensure their status as a VEC supporter continues. The use of the old logo and an organisation’s listing on the Veteran Employment Program (VEP) website would end on 30 November 2024.

Accordingly, Chatham Square applied and was successful in being renewed as a Veteran Employment Supporter.

Our commitment included:

• Inviting applicants to voluntarily disclose prior military service.
• Listing ‘Veterans are encouraged to apply’ or ‘Defence experience desirable’ in relevant job advertisements.
• Clearly communicating to veteran employees, the organisation’s purpose and their individual roles, responsibilities, expectations and feedback.
• Publicly support veteran employment.
